Starbucks, Korea

Starbucks Korea

While browsing through my photos I came across this photo of a (special) Starbucks outlet in Seoul. I’ve have been told that this is the only Starbucks outlet in the world with its name solely written in non-Roman alphabetical letters. By doing so Starbucks was able to open an outlet in this traditional Korean neighbourhood.

Seoul @ Night – Lovely Memories

I just came across on YouTube a movie that captures the night scene of Seoul pretty good! It reminds me of crossing the Han River at night! Sweet memories!

Mentorsclub weekend!

Mentorsclub MT Weekend, South Korea

I just figured out that I’m one week behind with updating and posting atmosphere snapshots on my blog. So here are some snapshots taken during the Mentorsclub MT weekend. It took place in the countryside of Korea about three hours outside Seoul. During daytime we did some fun stuff like paintball shooting, playing football and at night we had a nice dinner, did some drinking and norebang (Karaoke). Enjoy the snapshots!

Busy People’s Party

Busy People’s Party @ Walker Hill Hotel Seoul

After days of imprisonment (library and office) they finally let my out to play! I took advantage of this situation to the fullest before I will be locked up again next week. So last Friday I had a wonderful party lined up with a very appropriate title “Busy People’s Party”. It was great fun to see some Korean rock stars and to hang out with my friends! BTW these days a Dutch friend is here in Korea for holidays! Find below some party pics and film footage.

Dual Realities

Dual Realities, South-Korea

This week I treated myself – between all the hard work as a scholar and banker – with a visit to the Seoul Museum of Art with my beloved good Canadian friend. Currently they are hosting an exhibition on Dual Realities! Love it!

Dual Realities, South-Korea

“As the Internet and multimedia become part of our lives, the physical world and virtual reality have become closely interrelated in this new era with media environment. Today, the discussion on the real world and virtual world is not new and cyberiaculture does not attract much attention any more. Nevertheless, the reason for the choice of “dual realities “as a theme of this exhibition is that physical reality and virtual reality are becoming more interchangeable and inseparable.”Dual Realities” will approach New Physicality with an artistic language and diverse and creative ideas that will sublimate positive and negative sides and the division of cyberspace to integration and even healing.

This exhibition analyses a paradoxical situation where the real world influences virtual reality under the keyword of “Dual Realities,” and represent Augmented Reality where the public identity such as SMS, messenger, Internet community, and mobile communication expands. The process of preparing for tomorrow, editing, changing, and creating real time and real space in virtual reality today.” Source
