And the MBA Bloggie goes to…

ClearAdmit
Clear Admit recently conducted a survey to recognise the best of blogging among this year’s MBA applicant bloggers. Clear Admit released the results yesterday and I would like to say kudos to the cream of the crop. I was not surprised to see Dave, PowerYogi, & Brit-Chick leading the charge. Starbucks, Korea

Starbucks Korea

While browsing through my photos I came across this photo of a (special) Starbucks outlet in Seoul. I’ve have been told that this is the only Starbucks outlet in the world with its name solely written in non-Roman alphabetical letters. By doing so Starbucks was able to open an outlet in this traditional Korean neighbourhood.

McKinsey Quarterly in Chinese

McKinsey Quarterley Chinese

Today I discovered that the McKinsey Quarterly is also available in Chinese nowadays. Although its still in a Beta version! For me hard to judge if the content is similar but I guess so. The accompanying images that go with the articles seems to have Asian aesthetics. Wondering about the exact rationale behind this localised version of the Quarterly.

Change This

One of my favourite WebPages on the net “ChangeThis“. It publishes (controversial) ideas on daily topics. Amongst other my favourite publications are “25 Ways to Distinguish Yourself” and “The Personal MBA: Mastering Business Without Spending a Fortune

The Personal MBA idea recommends an array of books to read in order to gain the essence of business thinking. Off course the idea is arguable. For me as well, as I’m a strong advocate and believer of personal interaction in the classroom to versatile your knowledge on a certain subject. However, the recommended books are still a must read for anyone interested in getting a MBA degree.

Here are the 25 ways to distinguish yourself, download the entire presentation for a detailed elaboration on each element:

The new Wembley Stadium (2007)

New Wembley Stadium

Arguable the most famous football stadium (Wembley stadium) is rebuilt and its final completion date was on March 7th 2007, more than a year after the initially planned completion date and way over the initial estimated budget.

Well, as usual with large scale projects whether it is construction, IT or something else. Large scale projects tend to exceed budget and time commonly since they are so hard to manage even for the most experienced project managers. I think mainly because of their usual uniqueness nature with respect to scale, environment, and the deliverables themselves.

Who cares now with regards to the fabulous new Wembley stadium with a capicity of 90000 seats! The English can be proud of it
