Now is your chance! If you want to live the “O.C” lifestyle but don’t have the O.C. bucks, here’s your chance.
Despite its glamorous reputation as the place where great wealth meets great tans, Orange County, California, is ground zero for the housing bust.
Today there are more than 3.300 foreclosures in the area which makes it a great bargain, especially for Europeans with the weak US dollar. BusinessWeek listed the most expensive foreclosed properties coming to auction here. For a detailed report on The Other Orange Country you can follow this link.
Have you ever checked out my favourite Flickr pictures taken by others? Well, to give you an advice maybe you should give it a try and start explore. Since I not really have the professional equipment and theoretical knowledge about photography I can use Flickr as an unique source and wonderful place to learn and get inspired. Hopefully someday I am able to see and capture such beautiful moments as included in my favourites’ collection!
Congrats to the World Series Champions, the Chicago White Sox! After a nervous September, those guys played lights out in October. Pretty magical run.
The White Sox completed their incredible conquest Wednesday night, eliminating the final demons that haunted the franchise since their last World Series title in 1917.
Between my studies I really enjoyed watching the highlights of the game on Eurosport. Although, I’m a big football (soccer) fan and baseball is not a popular sport in Holland I really enjoy watching American sport games in general whether it is baseball, American football or basketball. In particular I love the passion of American people during sport games, the commentary which is rather spectacular in comparison with Dutch football commentary and the way how games are recorded with all its different camera positions and angles.
Hi Peeps, last week my Canadian friend from Toronto was visiting me in Holland. Overall it was a fantastic and wonderful rendezvous after not seeing each other for almost two years.
The last time that we saw each other was actually in Chicago during a Thanksgiving celebration at a mutual friend.
Besides the usual sight seeing and parties in Amsterdam we also explored other parts of Holland like The Hague, Scheveningen, Zandvoort and Zaanseschans. The latter is a delightful old hamlet on the banks of the river Zaan with characteristic green wooden houses, charming gardens, small hump-backed bridges, cheese farm, clog factory, historic windmills and engaging little shops.
Overall, the Zaanse Schans gives an excellent impression of how a typical Zaanse village must have looked like in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. As I almost live my entire life already in Holland it was my first visit to the Zaanseschans and it was definitely worthwhile a visit. To give you a impression of my last week you can check out my Flickr page.
This week Amsterdam is home port for the seventh time to one of the largest maritime events in the world: SAIL Amsterdam 2005. This spectacular event is only held every five years. To give you an impression of SAIL Amsterdam 2005, I have uploaded my best taken shots which are published on my Flickr page.
Flickr is a webpage where you can share your best photos to the people who matter to them. (Since from being a child I’ve always been told that sharing is better as ) Currently I am totally into flickr which can be time consuming though. There are so many artistic and beautiful photos to see, like my chosen favourites taken by others. All in all it gives me inspiration and motivation to devote and deepen my knowledge of photography.
Hi there! I uploaded my holiday photos to the following webpage. They are split up into the following categories all under the “Asia” section.
- Singapore
- Shanghai
- Hangzhou and Huangshan
Live from dizzling Shanhai! My first report (finally) during my holiday! Let’s start off with the last ten days in Singapore.
My stay there was wonderful and definitely memorable for a lifetime, it felt really good to see my friend again after 1.5 year. We had loads of fun and shared good moments with all her friends! Honestly, from all the places I’ve been too so far I can quite confident tell you that S’pore is really the world food capital. There are many so many cuisine’s (from absolutely anywhere) on offer that I have experienced new food everyday and still there is so much more on offer! In particular and to point something out I was really keen on trying all the tropical fruits. Actually, I didn’t know that my flavour senses could reach that far.
Yeaahhh, I finally made it to Shanghai! Now I can see all (economical/business) opportunities, where I’ve been reading about the last few year! Ten hours ago I arrived at Pudong International Airport. Now I’m waiting for my Singaporean friend to arrive at the place we’re staying in Shanghai. We had both different carriers although fortunately on the same date. The hotel is only a step away from the beautiful view which you can see on the picture above. On Monday we’re travelling to Hangzhou and after that, subsequently, Huangshan, Nanjing, Suzhou and we end our journey back in Shanghai. Cool isn’t? Well let’s talk some more later!
