New Millennium Hall (including Graduate School for International Studies)
Underwood College
Campus’ Main Street towards Main Gate
Among plenty other things, today I went around campus to take some snapshots with my new acquired camera! The entire photo collection can be found here! I still have to go to the West and North part of campus though.
Today I listened to an interesting Podcast on why marketers are finally paying attention to the half of the male population they’ve been missing. Most importantly in this change is that purchasing decisions of many household products and so on are moving to a shared decision making. Here you can find the coverstory and the Podcast.
Another interesting story BWs report on China’s top 20 brands. Chinese MNCs are gearing up for the Olympics of 2008 with global advertisement campaigns. Here you can find the list. One of my courses here in Korea will be on Chinese economy, I’m really looking forward to that!
Hi, just a short update cos I really wanted to share this picture with you guys! Hilarious right? Hiddink is still the Dutch Legend in Korea.
In 15 minutes I will head towards the welcome party of the Mentor Club where I will meet my Korean buddy! Look forward to it. Today it’s Club Day. Every last Friday of the month there is Club Day. You can purchase one ticket which cost you approximately €15,- and gives you access to 15 different clubs. All located in the Hongdae area which is near campus, lucky us!
Today I went to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The DMZ in Korea is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea. The DMZ cuts the Korean Peninsula roughly in half; it is 248 km long and approximately 4 km wide.
To get at the DMZ we had to cross 5 layers of security, we went to different parts of the DMZ including the Joint Security Area(JSA. The JSA is the only portion of the Korean Demilitarized Zone where South and North Korean forces stand face-to-face. The soldier in the photo above was standing in the building where from time-to-time negotiations are taking place between South and North. Whereas the gray building in the back of the photo at the left side is located in North Korea.I also bought some mini flags to decorate my room. Since my dormitory room still looks quite boring I bought some mini flags at the gift shop of the JSA to decorate my room.
Tomorrow I will try to get my hand on video footage of the DMZ including the JSA. More information about the DMZ can be found here. Keep you posted.
